I recommend The Percy Jackson Series, Goosebumps/Horrorland Series, and also The Artemis Fowl Series. They are really interesting books, and you can find them in the library. I also recommend the The Throne of Fire series, also made by the same author of Percy Jackson, (Rick Riordan) but this time, it's not about Greek but EYGPTIAN Gods.
I love The Hunger Games too! But since you've just mentioned them here are my other recommendations: The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak, The Harry Potter series, the Heroes of Olympus series, The diary of Anne Frank, Phillip Pullman's Northen Lights Trilogy and the Sally Lockhart quartet. Also the Ingo series by Helen Dunmore and The Secret Breakers by H.L .Dennis. They are all really good books and I hope every one will enjoy them as much as I have. Rosa
Hi Rosa, excellent recommendation ... Especially the Anne Frank diary, since it is based on a true story, and includes what happened in the war. It's very devastating, and sad. I watched the movie, I cried my eyes out.
Hey Rosa The Hunger Games are my favorites as well I also recommend Cathcing fire and Mockingjay, I really recommend Mud,sweat and tears by Bear Grylls.
I also recommend Eygpt, in a high speed history by Terry Deary. It's history, I know, boring and all, BUT! It's in comic style! It also involves some funny/gross bits in it too!
I recommend the Twilight Series, By Stephanie Meyer, and also the Chocolate Box girls series, by Cathy Cassidy. They are really good books. I also recommend that you seek books in the library by Anne Cassidy. Her stories are very thrilling, and makes you want to read more and more. The book I recommend by her, is Love letters. It's not romantic or anything, but it's about a girl who gets blue letters, with love quotes on them. She likes the idea of having a secret admirer, but she doesn't know who he is, what he is, and what he wants. It's kinda scary, in MY opinion. But very fascinating. I won't tell you what happens, cause you guys gotta read by yourself. I also recommend Missing Judy. THATS another thrilling story about a girl and her younger sister, Judy, about 5 years old go walking home after school. Then Judy refuses, and runs off, leaving her older sister behind. Ever since that day, Judy has been missing. Then after about 5 or 7 years, something on the television comes up about Judy. You HAVE to read it. It leaves you on the edge of your seat. You can't put the book down. It's THAT good. You have to go upstairs, to the teenager section, and you will see her books their. The best thing about the library, it's free. The books. Also, you should read "The Green Mile", by Stephen King. It's a sad story, about a black, tall man, who gets sent into jail, but who is innocent. There is also a movie about it. Even though he may big and tall, he is very scared about things... For instance, he says "Please don't turn the light off. I'm scared of the dark". He also makes friends with all of the officers, who cry, near the end of the movie when something devastating takes place. It's a very sad movie, and is one of my favorite drama movies. I cried and cried when i saw the ending part with the officers crying. BUT, I'm not going to spoil it, and once again you have to read the book, before seeing the movie. The movie is never as good as the book. I also recommend the "Power of One" by Bryce Courtney, who sadly passed away last year. Read it, and you will love it. It's a very good book. There is also a movie about it as well.
I also recommend that you o on your computer (I go on my iPad cause its easier) and search up Wattpad. You can search up Tories that have been written by users on Wattpad. It's a very good website/app
I reccomend the cherub series, they are good books but definitly not for younger readers there is some graphic stuff. My favourites are Class A and Mad Dogs.
Some more great books I have just thought of are the Inkheart trilogy by Cornelia Funke ,Once upon a time in the North by Phillip Pullman and the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis-Rosa
i recommend the lilly series there a really good set of books i am trying to collect them all but apparently they have stopped publishing them my goal is to go to the lily library and get the whole series
Hi everyone! I have done a persuasive writing review for the book: "Alone on a wide wide sea." Please do not dis, just don't bother to reply if you are. Here goes nothing!
Alone On A Wide Wide Sea Award winning author Michael Morpurgo, introduces you the new creation of “Alone On A Wide Wide Sea.” The story takes place when 5 year old Arthur is separated from his sibling Kitty, and is taken all the way down to Australia. His extraordinary adventure contains the elements of friendship, family, and freedom. Sixty years later, his daughter Allie sets off on an adventure to England, and is determined to find Kitty at all costs. Experiencing wild happenings, her main choice is to mend back her family together, and most importantly, reunite Kitty and Arthur.
Michael has taken a hard challenge into making this book in many ways. Setting most scenes about WWII was probably slightly advanced, while he himself hasn’t experienced war. But the combination overall is related to situations and experiences which happened back at the time in reality. The mixture of genres in this story are amazing. Combining Family, Drama and importantly War doesn’t make a great recipe, but Michael definitely aced to a high standard.
Morpurgo has definitely created an amazing story to tell. I mostly recommend this book to children any age, and who love family, friendship, war, and a tang of drama. Some say it’s a bit too “old” and long, but it probably might be one of the best stories ever made of the century.
Hi Everyone! This is another book review I want the WHOLE class to see, and give a slight bit of feedback. Read it, and if you think you like it, please reply with a mouthful of feedback. This is related to my ICAS exam for writing which is based around persuasive writing, and will be set for me, jordan, and rosa next Monday. Here it goes:
Blood Ties Blood Ties is an amazing book, written by the one and only, Sophie McKenzie. The plot takes place when Theo finds out there is a secret behind his father’s death, which occurred about 7 years ago. Determined to find out, he bumps into the lonely but lovely Rachael. She also is a relation to the secret. But what they find out is that there is a company which goes by the name of RAGE who know their true identities more than they do. Frightened, Theo and Rachel are sent on a dangerous journey, with RAGE chasing after them, and stopping at nothing to stop them from knowing. As the game of cat and mouse continues, they fall into traps, and luckily bump into a group of helpers, who might risk anything to keep them alive. McKenzie has made a wonderful creation of the book. With the combination of Thriller, Drama and a tang of action, the author no doubt has introduced a brilliant novel. With the synonyms of everyday words, it accompanies the book more, and accommodates us fully about what the book is about. Each chapter is very impeccable. No wonder she has made a variety of great books!
Overall, the story was very great and thrilling to read. I recommend the book to people who love Thriller, a bit of Action, and a slight interest for forensic science. Most say the book is too non-understandable, but for the people who continue, it will abandon you at the edge of your seat.
